President Buhari writes to Chinese President, Xi Jinping
On the upcoming 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, President Muhammadu Buhari congratulated Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.
His message was included by his spokesperson, Femi Adesina, in a declaration on Saturday.
The president also commended the anniversary of the Communist Party and the individuals of China.
A letter to the Chinese President from the Nigerian leader reads in part:
“On behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, I congratulate Your Excellency, the Communist Party and the people of China.
“The previous 70 years have been decades of political steadfastness, notable growth, commitment and purposeful management leading to the emergence of China’s People’s Republic as a worldwide powerhouse.
“I rejoice with China’s hardworking and patriotic individuals who have demonstrated over the years a very strong feeling of purpose unity, enormous hard work, patriotism, and complete trust in their rulers.
“I appreciate the partnership between China and African nations under the umbrella of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, FOCAC, which breaks fresh boundaries for Africa’s growth in a mutually beneficial setting.
“I’m also enthusiastic about our two countries’ ever-increasing level of collaboration.
“Once again, on this landmark celebration, I congratulate you and all the Chinese around the world.”
